Excerpt from the minutes of the Special City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016

{RESOLUTION #2016-09 - BILL #9 – RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MCKEESPORT, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, DESIGNATING THE TRIBUNE-REVIEW PITTSBURGH EDITION AS THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION.

Mayor Cherepko said what this means is now that The Daily News is gone we will be using the Tribune-Review as the official paper of the City of McKeesport. It doesn’t mean you will not read some things in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette it just means for advertising our meetings, hearings, etc. will be advertised in the Tribune-Review. We went with the paper that was cheaper. They had the better rates so we chose the Tribune-Review.

MOTION: Ms. Walker-Montgomery moved, seconded by Mr. Brown “to approve Bill #9.”    RC-15

McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko Welcome!

McKeesport’s City Administration has maintained this internet presence as a convenient means of providing news and information for our residents, friends and neighbors in McKeesport and surrounding communities.

The announcement of the demise of our beloved McKeesport Daily News was but another indication of the growing trend toward the necessity of maintaining an internet presence. The remaining local, national and other hard copy news and advertising media also offer electronic editions  of, and subscriptions to, their newsprint products. Online social media is readily available to anyone and everyone. As such, maintaining an internet presence has evolved into the preferred means of communication, advertising, buying, selling, and payment options, on and on ad infinitum.

Tribune Review News. On Dec. 1, the company will consolidate printing of all its publications — including the Greensburg and Tarentum editions of the Tribune-Review — at a facility in Tarentum where it prints its weekly newspapers, the Pennysaver shopper, and commercial printing contracts, said Jennifer Bertetto, president and chief executive of the North Shore-based company.

On that same day, the company will offer a free, online-only edition of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and will continue to publish Pittsburgh news on its website, triblive.com,

“Our commitment to covering news in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County will not change,” Ms.Bertetto said. Read entire article here.

Browsing our "Navigation" menu provides visitors with online access to our main pages, subpages, city departments, recreation programs, forms and permits, links to many essential Local, County, State & National Agencies, Fair Housing resources, Community Development resources, minutes of City Council Meetings and much, much more.
