[ARCHIVED] McKeesport Mayor, Police take Easter Bunny on City Tour

Mayor Cherepko drives Easter Bunny to wave at residents on Washington Street

Mayor Michael Cherepko and members of the McKeesport Police Department escorted the Easter Bunny to say hello to families on their porches, in their front yards, and through their windows on April 6, 2020.

It was wonderful to drive through McKeesport’s neighborhoods on April 6 to share a little joy with local families, McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko said.

Mayor Cherepko, Councilman Brian Evans, and McKeesport Police Department Lt.’s Fran Angert and Bob Eastman escorted the Easter Bunny to say hello to families on their porches, in their front yards, and through their windows. They were greeted by smiling faces of all ages as they rode through neighborhoods from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

"I’m sure the Easter holiday is going to be a very different experience for everyone during these trying times," Mayor Cherepko said. "Taking the Easter Bunny around to wave at children in all of McKeesport’s neighborhood is a simple way that we can spread a little joy and let families know we are thinking of them."
