The Joyful Bloomers Garden Club will host its annual Flea Market and Plant Sale at the Kane Community Living Center on Wednesday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This sale is open to the public.

Led by retired teacher, Shelley Ruggier, this educational and moving program shares firsthand stories, experiences, private photographs, and remembers the lives lost due to the genocide of the Jewish people during World War II.

On the second Saturday of June, Mayor Mike Cherepko and the McKeesport Recreation Board invite area children to participate in the city's Kids Fishing Derby! The event is open to anyone under 16 who can hold a fishing rod ... and yes, they can have a little help from an adult! The event includes a free lunch, door prizes, skill prizes, and a grand prize for the largest fish caught. This year's event is guided by experts from Venture Outdoors.

Good Neighbor Day is an opportunity to celebrate businesses, community groups, churches, and more! We gather on Fifth Avenue in downtown McKeesport for a day of outdoor activities. There are games and activities for children and families. Vendors serve food from booths and trucks. There's also live music!

Celebrate Juneteenth in Renziehausen Park with a kickball tournament, pop-up shops, concessions, bounce house, DJ, and more. A kids' kickball game for ages 3-10 begins at 11 a.m., with an adult tournament to follow. Register your team by texting 412-436-6961.

McKeesport's Community Partnership for HIV/AIDS Prevention will host a Rock the Block Party in observation of National HIV Testing Day. The event -- featuring information booths, free food, games, family activities, music, and more -- is planned for Saturday, June 24, outside of the First Step Recovery Homes facility on Market Street.
